Mission Statement
GovCERT Austria is the Government Computer Emergency Response Team for Austria‘s public administration.
Since April 2008, the Federal Chancellery has been operating this body in cooperation with CERT.at.
Since then, the Federal Chancellery has taken on the strategic tasks of GovCERT Austria (= the strategic element of GovCERT Austria) and has been using the technical resources and technical qualifications of CERT.at (= technical/operative part of GovCERT Austria) to deal with, or prevent, security incidents in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) of public administration. GovCERT Austria also promotes the installation of sector-specific computer emergency response teams.
Advancing the establishment of CERTs and CSIRTs (Computer Security Incident Response Teams) in all sectors is an explicit goal of GovCERT Austria.
